She was in her own little world, letting her thoughts get the better of her. Even though there were people all around her for the most part, Lucy was lonely. She leaned against the wall and inhaled deeply, wondering if this is what their lives were going to be now. The promises made of the way their lives should be, seemed far fetched now.

As Johnny turned the corner, he startled her momentarily. She smiled to his nod, and nodded back, there wasn’t really anything more to say. Markus had told her to stay put, for whatever reason. Thus far she trusted his judgement, but she seemed almost useless here.

Going back to the kitchen played in her mind, but she couldn’t shake the chill that crept up her spine as she thought about the creature that had toyed with her earlier. Outwardly she shivered.

Smithson could hear Johnny's remark, and desperately wanted to answer it, but in his position on the ground in a sterile base defending against unknown creatures, he found he couldn't adequately give a response. So, he stayed silent and watched Sid's life signs on a tiny screen in the defibrillator. He seemed as if he was generally stable, but there was no way to be sure if he would start coding soon. The doctor hoped to God that this was in fact a simple heart attack, and not some horrible future disease. He would consider placing the scalpel he held onto the floor next to him until he realized that he had in effect stolen the cigarettes off a hardened soldier. While he did not regret his actions in the slightest, Smithson figured he might need some line of deterrent between him and Sid.

Dr. Andrew was beginning to feel anxious. He needed to wait until the pills he'd crammed down the warrior's throat took effect before he could determine the next course of action. He had nothing to do for the moment. Unless... he would dash back into the supply closet for several petri dishes, syringes and beakers and hurriedly walk towards the door. Just two doors over, there was a 'thing'. a 'monster'. A test subject. If it had any of the newest diseases of the age, then the people of the shelter would need protecting. If he could get a fluid sample, blood, spit, anything, then he could synthesize up a vaccination. with a curt nod to the people in the room, he would say simply "I'll be in the other medlab. I'm farming myself a horrible creature. Back in two minutes."

With that he would leave the room unless stopped by some force. He did, however intend to listen carefully for anyone calling. Any one of the injured people in the room could have a complication at any time, and he wanted as much warning as possible.

It wasn't long before Johnny returned, who Natalie regarded with a confused and curious stare. She tilted her head to the side and watched him place a black duffel bag by her feet. Almost on instinct she retracted her feet back, but relaxed within the second following.

"Wh-what's . . . this?" she asked hesitantly.

Natalie didn't recognize the duffel bag in the slightest. It didn't make sense why he was given it to her, even! But by the way he motioned to it, she ascertained that Johnny was giving it to her for some reason or the other. It looked full, though--like it was stuffed full of things, or something like that! Maybe it was hers and she had it in the car when they wrecked, maybe? That might explain it, but why would she keep something like that around? Even when she went out and about with her friends, Natalie rarely brought much with her! Well . . . maybe they had gone exercising? That might explain it. People carried around duffel bags a lot when they went exercising!

So maybe that was it.

Except she didn't exercise a lot.

Natalie flared her nose and pursed her lips in thought. This was kind of nerve wracking, this duffel bag thing. So, while keeping her left arm over her chest to continue to clutch the shirt to her chest for decency's sake, Natalie zipped open the bag to investigate it's contents . . .

As it was the small group outside had ran into a bit of trouble, and were now making a run back to the base. With a large creature alien like monster fighting a large and sturdy robot; the ground all around the facility shook with each toss, tug and pull the two things shared in their dangerously wild battle. The first doors from the outside would open to let in the three that were outside, with the help of the AI Lu lu. Jodie would direct Lu to only close those doors once Christoph was in behind them as they sped down the long dark tunnel to the second set of doors, which she advised to open when they were also close enough. Leaving behind the alien and robot to battle each other in the sands of Las Vegas.

When the second doors do open, Jodie drew the bike to an unsteady slow as they entered the safety of the hanger. Her jumpsuit was starting to show a bit of blood from the claw like appendage jammed into her shoulder. She was cold with bits of sweat sticking to her skin and she felt very nauseated and dizzy. The bike would shut off, leaving a light echoing rumble to travel through the facility before things settled down into a white noise.

Jodie slumped forward a bit and closed her eyes momentarily, she’s never before in her life experienced such a feeling, nor has she ever lost so much blood in her life either.

Her arms feel down limply from the handle bars of the bike as she was able to somewhat relax from the effort it took to keep control of the thing.

More than likely Olivia would have to help her to get to the Medical room, if Jodie even attempts to stand up she’d probably fall over due to her dizziness.

--
The contents within the bag would look very familiar, personal items.. things that belonged to her even. Some of the clothing that was in the bag was the clothing she had been wearing when she was brought to the government facility, perhaps even some jewelry thrown in there, shoes, socks and a pair of panties. But there was also some other odds and ends, not just her personal things she had on her at that time prior to this situation. But little odds and ends of supplies, a small case of makeup, hair ties and ribbons. A key ring with cute cartoon characters dangling from it and even a little stuffed animal.

However under all of the things in the bag, she would find something much more personal. In the bag there were a few photos, friends, family, her school I.D card, a book and other little odds and ends that would be consider much like mementos.

The main disadvantage the girl would have compared to everyone else, is that she doesn’t know what she is here and she never had a chance to bring anything with her that she may have wanted. Though everyone’s circumstance was different on how they were put into this position, some of them were able to bring with them a few things. The ones that knew more of what was happening, who had been somewhat warned a little bit more ahead of time.

But none the less though, most of what was brought with them were small items. Olivia had her A.I palm pilot, Jodie has her small computer and a few pictures and even some clothes. The doctor may also have something as all as Christoph.

Johnny shrugged unknowingly at Natalie, blinking a few moments before actually speaking to the confused girl, it wasn’t like he knew the position she was in, not knowing anything, hell; he didn’t know that she knew nothing about what was going on. Granted, perhaps it would have been silly to simply tell a twelve year old that everyone they knew was dead, but--Natalie wasn’t five, she was twelve, and Johnny was already somewhat perturbed by how the others were treating her. A kid, yes. An idiot, probably not. But that was another story, for another time, and now was not that time.

“Whatever was in yer locker, I cleaned it out,” he said as he gestured towards the bag again.
“That and someone else’s locker for a shirt, butthatwasforme … ”

The man would straightened his shirt slightly, it was a normal T, a type that he wasn’t overly fond about, and there was some stain on it--might’ve been blood, might’ve been grease. He didn’t know, didn’t really care, either, but it was there.

"Went n'figured you'd prefer something to wear," he shrugged again. "Gotta beat a torn shirt."

Of course, maybe Johnny had read the wrong signals and maybe she preferred to be half-naked, left in a daze, and using only a shirt to cover her shame. All kinds of people liked all kinds of things. Who was he to judge another person's preferences?
