The Island of Conivia

For the longest time, Conivia existed without the thumb of the world around it involved in any way, shape, or form. The island paradise was the foremost land mass in a chain of islands extending into the reaches of the ocean from the bottom left of the center content. Inevitably, it was the easiest of these lands to find and explore, and over time, the fishing community became a tourist attraction.

The transition from an island nation comprising a total of three mid-sized villages to a sprawling single metropolis was a quick one. It took only a few years of sailors stopping through in the midst of trade routes for its economy to become fully focused upon tourism. Outside money brought jobs to light, and while the island lacked many natural resources that were unique to it alone, it did possess the aesthetics that wound up turning it into the resort island it inevitably became. The three villages, once built out of drywood and straw, were soon turned to stone. The dirt roads soon became cobblestone, and as the population grew over the years, the three towns quickly converged into one: the Island of Conivia.

And contrary to popular belief, the islanders didn't quite mind the transition. Prior to the island's status as a popular resort, food was progressively becoming harder to come by and living conditions were quickly worsening by the day.

Cobblestone lines the streets of the single-city island, dotted with brief palm wildernesses. Foreign and native run shops are easily found on nearly every street, with taverns and inns placed as close to the shores as humanly possible. Law enforcement, albeit minimal, consists of patrolling guards, charged with the duty of keeping the good name of island. White beaches line every side of the island, with a dock at the north and south ends. Waves, towards the east, are gentle to moderate, while the western waves are much taller and more frequent.

As a tropical island, Conivia is a popular summer resort, but just like the rest of the world, it's summers can only last for so long . . .
