-- why does Nate always RP them? Lol. As funny as this is, it is actually a rather serious and sincere question. I know Armitage Will is just hiding his blatant homosexuality like Ryan Clifton did when he RPs chicks. And I know Roger is Asian -- therefore ... he's just allowed. Lol. |

Balance obsession. That's really all. I've a fairly equal number of male and female characters of all ages, and I prefer it that way. Sometimes, though, I get roped into playing young female characters in plots because I'm one of the few people on this side of the internet willing and capable of doing it. All and all, though, I can fulfill just about any niche; even when I can't, I'm a good enough bullshitter to make it look natural. The fact that I can fulfill this particular niche draws both positive and negative attention, the former of which generally drags me into RPing young female characters more often than I'd prefer (again, balance obsession). |

Well, most of said young female characters stem from a single plot, to be fair. Sadly that 150+ page monstrosity known as Destiny's Odd Ways was (except for the most recent few pages) on the old site and thus is LOST FOREVER. <cries> Also, it's probably partly my fault. Eld is just a pimp, what can I say? |

Fascinating and yet, a very reasonable and good answer. I'm afraid, I've never RPed any women before -- save for the few NPC's here and there. |

It's worth a try, Jeff. The ability to write both men and women equally makes a writer much more versatile; practicing that sort of thing can't hurt. Even if you give it a try and don't prefer it, you'll still have made progress as a writer. That's the whole reason I even learned how to write a woman's voice, after all; I just wanted to make some progress and become a little more versatile. After all, if I published a novel and every female character was a horribly unbelievable stereotype, I probably wouldn't make much in books sales, you know what I mean? Edit: And yeah, Zach. I can't tell you how many times I lament the loss of Destiny's Odd Ways during the course of the average week. That thread was so glorious. :( |
