He was a simple man who got addicted to gambling. He went from being of moderate wealth, owning a bit of land, and a house to being flat broke. He lost everything he had at a gambling table, including his nicest shirt. In desperation he found himself wandering and made his way to a crossroads. He offered his soul to anyone that could provide him with the means to reacquire his wealth. Unfortuanately someone answered his plee, either an agent of the old God or Sentinel himself he wasn't sure but he was gifted with unimaginable luck and a spirit companion nicknamed Lady Luck. He was also given exceptional card and dice handling skills along with several decks of special playing cards and dice.
