>> Dimensions.

Name: Illorex.
Age: 17.
Sex:
Date of birth: ? ? ?
Place of birth: ? ? ?
Status: Alive.
Race: Memory. [Birthplace, date, and etc. are inconsequential.]
Nationality: Purgatory.
Marital status: Single.
Height: 5'6.
Weight: 120lbs.
Eye color: Varies drastically each day.
Skin color: Extremely fair.
Hair color: Light brown.
Voice: Eerily monotonous, but not in an uncaring way. Rather, Illorex's voice is in a perfect mid-range for a man his age, as if he is physically incapable of deciding on the proper tone of voice to use. Illorex speaks forcefully without inflection, making him seem enigmatically stern at all times.
Notable marks: There are numerous aspects about Illorex's appearance that are considered fairly disconcerting. Firstly, Illorex awkwardly stocks a wardrobe full of half-clothes. These are literally clothes that are split down the middle and expertly sewn together to create something truly indecisive. For example, a two different shirts split vertically down the middle and crafted together as if they were made that way--a button down shirt and a muscle shirt, for example. The same applies to bottoms; he'll often wear "pants" that are slacks for one leg and shorts on the other.

Secondly, Illorex always wears a mask over one side of his face. It is vertically split down the middle, suggesting that there was at one point an entire mask over his face. The mask is bland, steel, and has a small glass shield for him to see through, wide enough for just one eye.

Lastly, Illorex's blank stare, rarely interrupted by blinking, is the source of much discomfort amongst his fellows--sans his companions, who recognize it as commonplace. This is a distinguishing feature, as it changes only when he closes his eyes to sleep--which is rarely for any great length of time. Illorex will often direct his piercing gaze at an individual with whom he has no business, creating many an awkward moment.

Demeanor: It is unclear to even Illorex himself just who and why he is--and not for a lack of memories. He lacks any semblance of amnesia, actually. Nonetheless, even amongst friends, he is constantly questioning the world around him, himself and others included, out of an inability to make any concrete conclusion. Curiosity is what mostly drives him--curiosity and mixed feelings. Illorex constantly wants to make sense of the world, but is always of two minds. He rarely says much, generally because he has two ideas of what to say when he's prompted to speak, often resulting in a lengthy mental debate.

Illorex's companion Attis once wrote a brief psychological analysis of Illorex in his later reports about The Rubicon Project, suggesting that Illorex didn't arrive amongst the Memories until close to the end of the project. Attis's brief blurb is as follows:

"A new one came today; he just . . . wandered in. But he wasn't like the rest of us. He didn't come in with a purpose, he wasn't trying to escape anything or find anyone. He was just walking. We asked him his name and he gave us two. Ilex and Zreol. He couldn't decided which, and when we further inquired, he told us to disregard them--he told us that he had no name. So we gave him one: Illorex.

Illorex, a man whose stare seems to pierce the soul. He doesn't intend to be intrusive--perhaps because he doesn't know what it is to be intrusive. When he looks at me, though, I feel something that everyone else doesn't. I feel as if he's missing something--the kind of lost something that we all experience when we've misplaced our keys or lockets or trinkets of any kind, and just can't find it, so we tear out our rooms and houses and hurl everything upside-down looking for something we may or may not have needed in the first place. Except Illorex's something isn't physical, and he doesn't have anything to tear up. So he looks at us; he stares at us as if we're all just closets in the world, closets that may contain that something--that something for which he can find no name."

Preliminary information, however, exists within Recheov. Though Recheov treats Illorex like a rival of sorts, he has said once before that he'd "never tango with Illorex, of all people." When asked, he responded only with this: "No person, livin' or dead, should go through wot 'e can do. oI don't care 'ow much 'ell they deserve; they don't deserve that." He did not elaborate any further, but it has caused numerous other Memories to feel intensely mortified by Illorex. Rechoev, who is generally regarded as the most fearless Memory to ever live, openly admitting that Illorex intimidates him has left other Memories intimidated by proxy. As it stands, though, Recheov is [presumably] the only one that knows what Illorex is capable of.
