Daniel really hasn't had much of a difficult life... ever. Since birth, he has lived with a pair of loving parents in a relatively quiet neighborhood. He does, however, have a group of friends that sometimes cause the locals mischief - but thats about it. School life is pretty decent, as with his grades, and Daniel usually balances his time outside with the time necessary to do his homework. In all truths, that is the most he has ever had to worry about.
However, in a fateful moment in which he encountered a strange, colorful, winged man after spending time at school during after-school detention, Daniel's entire life changed. He was targeted for death by this man--Edric--for reasons that Daniel, nor anyone else, it seems, could figure out. For reasons also unknown to him, Shin Shiden--the Azure Enigma--was charged to defend Daniel. The same night, he, Joe, and Shin were assaulted by strange shadow creatures, who attacked Daniel's hometown en masse. During the battle, Daniel himself was separated from Shin, taking with him the strange chakram blade that had been given to him for self defense.
Frantically, he defended himself to the best of his ability and crawled into a hole which he figured would lead him to safety. This did, but not what he was hoping. Rather than finding a place to hide, he awoke in a world much like his own, except devoid of people. There, he was met by one person, a young woman named Zera, who explained that she, too, was stuck in the strange, storm filled world--except on her end, it had been for years.
Over time, Daniel's ability to protect himself increased. Or, at the very least, he thought they had increased--enough that he felt that he could protect Zera, too. Their route out was in the form of a tower at the end of town, which had an awkward connected with the real world that they both knew. They managed to infiltrate it, and even located a device which could bring them back--that device located within a chamber covered with odd crystals. Even the floor was glass. They were met there by a man who had presumably developed the device, and a fight ensued. Daniel lost that fight. In truth, he hadn't learned a damn thing. Were it not for Zera's help, he would have been killed.
But, Zera proceeded to act against Daniel's wishes. Since one person had to activate the device, only one could travel. While Daniel was injured, Zera sent him and stayed behind for his sake.
Since then, Daniel has been trying to find that dark world again--and he has. With the help of Zera's younger brother Danyr (whom Daniel found while looking for information on "Zera Shariph"), they've managed to obtain a route into the dark world, but they city they found was momentously different from what Daniel remembered . . .

The Chakram-blade:
The Chakram-blade is also known as the wheel-blade; it's a mysterious weapon given to Daniel by the Azure Enigma. The hilt and handguard is that of a bladed chakram, which extends beyond this as a sword. Daniel has learned that the weapon is very useful in terms of its ability to withstand damage and the fact that, even if he loses it, he can always find it again in the most obvious of places. However, it remains only a secondary weapon: Daniel has learned that dual wielding two weapons, particularly a bed post, lead pipe, or other item of that nature, with the Chakram-blade in the other hand produces better results than using the Chakram-blade alone. This has coincidentally developed into a style of fighting for Daniel, although he didn't actually intend for that result.
