. . . . Personae
Name — Sarah Vaerbond.
Status — Alive
Birthplace — Meridian, New Xexoria.
Nationality — Algerothian.
Demeanor — By those who dislike her, Sarah is often described as overbearing, competitive, and totalitarian. They're not exactly wrong. Sarah is, for all intents and purposes, extremely competitive, overbearing at times, and almost always wants to be in charge, especially if she is stronger than those she is with. She is not inherently a bad person, however; Sarah is kindhearted towards her friends and often treats animals
with the same respect that an esteemed human being might deserve. She (often with her fists) condemns acts of selfishness or greed, but sometimes contradicts herself by acting with only herself in mind.

. . . . History
When Remmy, Sarah, and Emma's mother died, Sarah was only four years old. To this day, the only memory Sarah has of her mother is a vague one: time spent picking flowers on the countryside. At the time of her mother's death, the Vaerbonds had settled in the island country of Rivvil, a country ruled by the most elite of mages. The Vaerbond family resided in an isolated town for non-mages. When the magocracy of Rivvil intended to evict the magically inept from this village, many refused. The magocracy had the town burned to the ground, and Sarah's mother--a former adventurer alongside of her husband--stayed behind in the village to ensure the rest of her family's escape.

Sarah has no recollection of this.

The Vaerbond family relocated to the small town of Hillcrest, Algeroth, far from mages and supernatural forces of all kinds. Sarah spent most of her life in this village. She worked on her fathers farm alongside of her brother--and later, her younger sister Emma--which developed her into a rather tough, tomboyish child.

Whenever a boy felt he was superior to her in whatever way for whatever reason, she felt obligated to compete with him and often times beat him to a pulp if an excuse for his failure was ever made. For the longest time, Sarah alienated most boys in Hillcrest with independent aggression and an outright authoritative attitude. There was one boy that was willing to live under her immature iron fist, however: Eldridge Tsukimono. Until she began to drag him along to places, Sarah's only real friend was a frail and shy girl by the name of Mayako Takamine--the village priest's daughter. She and Mayako were close like sisters, though Sarah's rebellious attitude often had Mayako steer Sarah clear of spending much time at the Takamine household.

It was shortly after Eld began to hang around Sarah that Emma, Sarah's younger sister, began to tag along--and soon after, Sarah and Emma's older brother Remmy began to babysit them regularly. Sarah spent her early adolescent years with this social group, only adding a boyfriend into it every so often--and only temporarily, as she had a habit of pushing them away by emasculating them.

Life was comfortable a horde of thieves lead by a man named Theleaus began a routine pillaging of Hillcrest, whereupon they forced labor for their own needs. Remmy mounted a rebellion against them utilizing most men of the village in fighting condition, including Eld. They successfully pushed by the thieves, but Remmy was killed in the process. Sarah's perfect world instantly began to break apart at the seams. Nothing of that world remained, just an illusion of it, when Eld was mysteriously inducted into a supernatural force: the Reapers, the very people that guided the dead into the beyond. Sarah, an atheist before this, was torn. More important, however, was the notion that Eld would have to permanently leave the village, with his guide a girl named Etsu Hikane that began to stay with Eld.

It was only when she realized that Eld would not be in her life forever that she understood her feelings for him--which, regrettably, was too late. The knowledge that Eld might soon leave ensured that they could not pursue a satisfying relationship. She was not above competing with Mayako and Etsu for Eld's affections, though, despite the fact that she had no intentions of making good on them: she simply didn't want to see Eld with anyone else but her. This came to an abrupt halt when Mayako revealed her love for Eld, something which she'd apparently kept hidden for years, and Eld, unable to return her feelings, broke Mayako's heart. Immediately feeling the need to defend her best friend's honor, Sarah dropped all competition with her and proceeded to beat Eld to a pulp.

Over time, Sarah was able to cope with her feelings for Eld, especially after (re)meeting Noah Herst, a boy from Hillcrest that had been away at college for some time. She began a happy relationship with Noah, eventually losing her want to be with Eld, replaced instead by a want to be with Noah.

This, too, was cut short, when Noah was warped by a man known only as "the Law," a sociopath gangster in the nearby township of Galaens. Mutilated and bent on revenge, Noah began to kill off the Law's men one by one--murders which became increasingly more frequent and violent. He was eventually stopped and "taken care of" by Eld, who also dealt with the Law shortly thereafter. Eld's treatment of Noah and his apparent refusal to try and bring him back to Hillcrest elicited hateful response from Sarah. While she eventually forgave him, it became impossible to conjure the same attachment for him that she once had.

Eventually, Eld left the village to join the Reapers in full.

Soon after, Sarah's father died of a heart attack.

Unable to maintain the farm without her father, Sarah was forced to sell off the horses she'd raised since she was a little girl. The comfortable world she'd established for herself no longer existed, even as an illusion.

Unable to cope anymore, Sarah left Hillcrest without a word.

. . . . Contacts
Emma Vaerbond Little sister.
Remington Vaerbond Brother. Deceased.
Eldridge Tsukimono (Former?) Friend and former love interest.
Mayako Takamine (Former?) Best friend.
Etsu Hikane (Former?) Friend.

. . . . Talents
Special power(s) — None, so far.
"Civilian" talent(s) — Sarah is skilled with raising and training animals of most any domestic species--she can even domesticate certain wild animals, given the time.
Fighting skill — None. Though Sarah has committed herself to becoming a wayward wanderer, she has not formally learned any brand of fighting talent; she's effectively been passed up by her friends--Mayako and Eld--and her younger sister Emma, all of whom Sarah at once point held physical dominance over. She can do little more than throw a pretty mean punch.

. . . . Physical Information
Species — Human.
Race — Algerothian/"Caucasian."
Sex —
Skin color — Slightly tanned.
Eye color — Blue-Green.
Hair color — Red.
Height — 5'4''.
Weight — 142lbs.
Visible age — 17.
True age — 16.
Voice — Sarah's voice is a low-range alto, mildly deep for a girl, but not alarmingly so. She has a consistent snarky adjustment to her voice and frequently speaks with sarcastic undertones.
. . . . Personae
Name — Sarah Alicia Vaerbond.
Status — Alive.
Birthplace — Hillcrest, Algeroth.
Nationality — Algeroth.
Marital status — Single. Formerly dating Eldridge Tsukimono.
Demeanor — Sarah is often described as "domineering" and "frighteningly aggressive" by friends, acquaintances, and enemies alike. She loves competition more than anything else and will frequently find reasons and means of going against someone, even something as pointless as competitive gardening. She's aggressive in more ways than one, though. Sarah will aggressively defend her friends, for instance, usually with her fists. She's said to fight like a boy and take hits like a tank. Despite her sarcastic and snarky attitude, though, Sarah is a genuinely loving person, characterized perfectly in how she tends to animals on her family's ranch, not as if they were animals, but as if they were human beings-- at times even treating them like they were her own children.

Life Goals — A survey was conducted during Sarah's last years in public school, regarding her three most valuable life goals. She turned in the following:

1. "Become a champion horseback rider."
2. "Take over my family's ranch."
3. "Break the nose of that kid with the hair. You know the one. One way or another, he's got it coming to him."

Sarah and "that kid with the hair" were promptly pulled together for peer mediation, where Sarah checked off her number three goal by breaking his nose with little provocation. She'd have been expelled if she hadn't only three months left in school at the time.

. . . . History
Sarah's life story is a fairly simple one. She was born in Hillcrest, and really has no intentions of leaving Hillcrest. She's the major heiress of the Vaerbond family ranch, and she fully plans on taking over when the time comes for her parents to retire. Her younger sister Emily was interested in contending with Sarah for the right, but only briefly.

The most dramatic events in her life have come from members of the opposite sex. Sarah has had numerous boyfriends in her life, her first and longest running boyfriend coming around at the end of her public school career (age ten). A year into it, he became something of a huge jerk, and Sarah beat the snot out of him. This began a slew of bad relationships before, often ending in heart break, until she started dating Eldridge Tsukimono, her childhood friend. Though their official relationship lasted only a few weeks, their breakup wasn't at all bitter, and only served to bring them closer. Sarah has since been much happier throughout her day to day life.

. . . . Contacts
Emily Vaerbond — Sister. In Sarah's eyes, Emily is a child immaculately conceived by her mother by the will of pure evil. Emily is conniving, manipulative, and almost needlessly utilitarian. More often than not, she sees people for their uses over their meaning in her life. Her personal philosophy in life is to "always know the right people." One of Sarah's favorite pastimes is making Emily lose her calm and collected composure. Since Emily turned twelve, Sarah has only successfully made her cry once.
Maya Takamine — Sarah's best friend. They're better described as girlfriends, or the social equivalent to "BFFs." Sarah and Maya are virtually inseparable, regardless of how much they have going on to promote mutual disinterest. Maya is non-athletic and prefers to pursue intellectual over physical achievements, but even still, they both consciously attempt to keep up with one another, if only so they never run out of things to chat about.
Toushikyo of Terra — Friend. Sort of. Toushikyo stands on the opposite side of the spectrum as Sarah. He can tear down any person's emotional defensive walls with stalwart passive-aggression. Fighting with him is impossibly one sided. As someone almost physically incapable of becoming upset, he always wins.
Eldridge Tsukimono Best friend and former long-time boyfriend. Sarah's known Eld since they were kids and has always dragged him along to every tangentially decided hang-out session she's ever had. They might fight a lot, but Eld's the best boy she's ever met in her life. He and Sarah only dated for a short while, but that relationship spilled into a "friends with benefits" deal for a long while, which, ironically enough, was exclusively just between them. Sarah and Eld didn't date anyone else during the time, though their attachment for each other was still only that of a powerful friendship. They secretly have a pact that as of Sarah's twenty-sixth birthday, if they're both single, they're obligated to get married and have half a dozen children together.
Akizetsumei of Terra Apparently Eld's new girlfriend. She's a good as far as Sarah's concerned, so when she saw that Eld was growing feelings for her, Sarah decided to cut back from him and ditch their "friends with benefits" themed relationship, if only for Akizetsumei's sake.
Etsu Kotaino Eld's cousin. She's quickly become one of Sarah's favorite people in the world. Etsu is brave, stubborn, and knows both her to throw and take a solid punch. Oddly enough, Sarah finds no reason to compete with Etsu. They've instead taken on a budding relationship akin to Sarah's friendship with Maya.

. . . . Talents
Workhorse — She may be only sixteen years old, but Sarah can work just as well as a forty year old man with mostly equal efficiency. She's tough, strong, and fast on the job; she can handle forty to forty-five hours a week with relative ease. Sarah works herself to the bone sometimes, but physically speaking, she's ultimately better off for it.
Brawler — Sarah is a natural born brawler. She can out box most boys her age, and though she can't necessarily out wrestle most of them, she's more than willing to try. Years of hard physical labor has toughened her muscles, making her the ideal partner in any drunken bar fight.
