I highly suggest looking at World Of Darkness roleplaying game.. they run Werewolfs very well.

Pretty sure the point is that they're werewolves and not werewhatever. o o;

I, personally, don't have a problem with you being able to willingly change every now and then, but I would still prefer you choose a trigger if you're not the First, or at least the Second Lycan. That's...Lycanthrope, not anthropomorphic shapeshifter. > <;

You can make an interesting character that happens to be a werewolf without having to rely solely on being able to change every single day. >>;

I guess I can look, but eh...if they're not at least somewhat similar to classic werewolves, then I don't know. x.x

Sorry I've been on a christmas shopping spree and whatnot.

Werewolves are the point of the endeavor -- although I will consider a werefox on the basis that it would be an ambassador for a very small clan within the boundaries of Kalmarden itself. We're not going to have werefoxes running willy nilly around Kalmarden, however. The wolves of the elite Vampires are not werewolves and are strictly for hunting purposes.

As for the werewolves themselves I want them to be as close to original as possible. The lunar cycles I will be flexible with, but when its a full moon I would like that all werewolves -- regardless of state of mind, physical state, or whatever -- turn into wolves. The finer points of everything else I'll come back with later and work out with the head werewolf.
