To gaze upon the moon

There was still a sense of feeling like I hadn't quite accomplished what it was I had come here to do. Whatever that might be. I didn't even honestly know why I was here in the first place, just that I should be, even if only for a moment. It was not to indulge in the senses of the island, for that would be a foolish endeavor leading me along the path my fallen brethren had tread to bring about our people's Fall. Maybe I already had done what needed to be and simply didn't quite realize it yet. In the least, I was more assured that young Eroina was safer now than she had ever been, and I knew by what to call my other self. "Dragon."

It seemed such an odd thing, that I would become entwined with an existence like it, so rich and full of powerful emotions when hiding them away was best for one as me. I let the moon bathe away my thoughts with its soothing light, so gentle, so calming to the beast that lurked within myself. Maintained and controllable to the point I allowed its influence to surface upon me. Its taint upon my skin when mixed with that of the moon gave a look as if I were forged of liquid silver, just as the sun's kiss could twist one's perception to the point I seemed flowing gold. How much more I felt I knew by simply learning its calling, developing a much deeper understanding and bond with myself. "Dragon."

The sand at my feet. The waves rolling across them. The wind at my skin. They had so much more meaning now than ever they did before, like they were a pillar upon which whole worlds had been built. I longed to reach out and touch them, only with so much more than a hand or a foot. Something deeper and instinctive called to the primal forces around me and my body felt chilled as they returned the summons. I did not just breathe the air; it cycled through me. I not only walked upon the earth; it supported me. My feet did not simply part the waves; they flowed around me. With each breath the air trembled, step the ground quaked and embrace the water shivered. "Dragon."

I was beginning to know the dragon and it me, and it was an exquisite feeling. Like lightning coursing across my skin and awakening sensations I couldn't quite say I'd ever felt. The sense I had only before a vague knowledge of was so much more vivid and clear, telling me of the world in ways I had never thought possible. The fact that I had not broken out into a dance of elation and joy was just a testament to my fortitude and self-control. Indeed, I did no more than walk free of the water's hold and lay next to my bag, where I had laid out my cloak. The grace of the moon's rays was a lovely one, one which managed to banish what displeasure I had experienced prior this moment, satiating my need for peace. "I am Dragon. I am Eldar."
