Shin's attack and dodge had literally occurred in less than seconds. If this battle was being watched, not much would be followed because from afar, where Shin began his assault, his body might have suddenly vanished and appeared rising to the sky somewhere closer to Jasper. He was fast, and Jasper had not taken a step. Confidence? Frozen in fear? Or had Jasper not even seen it coming? These all might have been questions in the minds of those acting as audience.

When Shin went air-born, Jasper caught a single glance of the man's direction: lifted and sailing over the Gaijin's head. With a grunt, Jasper bounced off his right foot. As if hovering, his body propelled by the force of his single hop alone, across the earth to where Shin had previously stood. Between point A and point B, the monster's body was early to spin around and keep a watchful eye on Shin as he fell. Eventually Jasper's body arched down, his feet grinding down to dig into the dirt and stop himself.

If Shin's actions were the same, the beast's right arm would finally rise. Jasper's arm was straight and its wrist locked, aiming the sword again at Shin. However, the tip of the blade pierced the invisible guardian. Immediately the shield was dropped, absorbing into the sword. Processed through layers and systems, the energy was stored. But while the sword absorbed, energy inside the beast itself was brewed.

It was then the Gaijin finally glanced aside, acknowledging the continually growing orb of power. It sparkled in his eyes, and in his mind an idea waited. He knew Shin had his own plans, none of which were likely to help Jasper prosper in this fight for his life. And so, Jasper looked back at Shin with a cold stare---beginning his slow, wolfish side-steps toward the growing power.

Shin rose from his crouch, to his full five and a half foot form, by no means intimidating. His arms hung loosely at his side, blueish-white hair hung just in front of his eyes. Shin had made the first couple moves, all had been thwarted, it seemed that despite his large frame the beast wasn't about to get into close combat with Shin, even without a weapon. Probably a wise choice.

Shins right hand snapped forward, his head inclining ever so slightly, the hair parting in front of his abnormally light blue eyes and allowing him a clear line of sight at the beast as it began to walk towards the energy.

"I think not."

As the words were spoken the raw energy, a portion of it, began to filter through the air, twisting and turning, weaving like a snake as it followed an unseen path through the air towards Shins outstretched hand.He was collecting a massive amount of chi, the raw energy, the life force that all living things had, even the planet itself had paths which Chi traveled and while not a master at it Shin was fully capable of drawing on those sources.

Wolfish chuckles barked between Jasper's bear-trap jaws. As Shin jerked his hand toward the sphere, the Gaijin's wrist would bend. Pointing the sword's tip first toward the sky, Jasper's arm would hook and slice at the air. Though there was nothing to cut, a barrage of wind-blades escaped the swing of the sword and aimed toward Shin. Similar to Shin's speed, moved by the powerful stroke of Jasper's swing, it would close the gap in the matter of a blink of an eye---probably faster than the absorbtion of energy.

But had Jasper not stopped to interrupt, Shin would still find difficulties. There was reason why the energy gathered: beneath it where the specific blades of grass had been plucked to attack Shin had also created the form a glyph, a rune. When the crystal tree fell, its spell was broken. Ambient energy should have been left alone as it was, dormant. But it was the rune which acted much like the tree, drawing, trapping the potential energy in one specific location. It was the rune's structure to pull at everything around it---Shin would have been unsucceful even if he had gone undistracted.

It was an attempt to catch him off his guard, the barrage of blade not directed at just him, but also all around him ranging from five to ten yards. Difficult to escape, yes, but managable. But while all this occured, the growing power within Jasper continued to grow---just as the sphere in the distance.

Shin would not get a chance to absorn any of the energy that he was attempting to draw. The technique Jasper employed against Shin was similiar to one Shin used himself, there was a technique the Shiden Style taught that did the same thing. And had Shin had a katana on his side he would have easily been able to over power the lycans attack ... but he did not.

As a master of combat, specifically kenjutsu and Iaijutsu Shin was fully capable of understanding the tactic behind the mammoth sowrd strike. Judging by the size of the blade, the speed at which it moved and distance Shin accurately determned the speed at which the attack would strike him. Shunpo could carry him a safe distance away, but he disliked using the technique more then he was forced to.

It was a near identical scenerio to what had happened mere moments ago, only the roles were reversed. Shins outstretched hand was instead the focal point for a glimmering gold shield, a bubble that flickered to life for a second before dying again. The result was simple ... it protected Shin from the attack as the rest of it passed him by.

He lowered his arm again, and clutched the broken bokken in both hands, it was nothing more then a double handed dagger for the moment. He brought it to his side, similar to an Iaijutsu stance, only there was no sheath for the portion of the wooden blade that exsited.

While Shin was still drawing in Chi from around him, he did not need such powers to make him a force to be reckoned with. He once again, began his assault, begining his steps forward, his body held low to the ground as he ran towards the wolf thing. Not as fast as last time, yet, still a speed that no normal human could ever to obtain or even perceive.
