Fortunately, Hilda's weapon was not chosen purely for its offensive output, but also its defensive utility; indeed, as Shin took the very air as his weapon, Hilda brought her blade back up, turned it until it shielded the most vulnerable places of her body, where armor did not offer protection, and, as the pressure pressed down atop her, she smiled a hidden smile; she took a step forwards, her body moved in perfect form, and every muscle groaned in protest, burned and moaned at the woman’s demands.

Oi,” Hilda’s eyes ignited with a fiery passion, “make ‘em remember who you were, Sieglinde.”

On queue, the large, bone-like sword appeared to roar in defiance as the wind pressed in and out of various holes, knots, and grooves in the blade; it was brought down and back up into a powerful attack, a powerful attack that spat in the face of Shin’s effort and even seemed to grow stronger because of it. The wind begin to disperse . . .

Shin Shiden’s sixth sense would definitely be tingling now. Sieglinde was not the average sword, it was incomparable to every other weapon that Hilda had used before, and as it sing and chimed, it became clear that the weapon was alive with power.

If the samurai was intent on using air pressure from above then Hilda simply needed to repulse it, did she not? And Sieglinde, in all his glory, performed very well in that regard; it was, after all, the only sword in Hilda's arsenal that excelled against missile attacks; granted, this was a fair bit different than usual, but Shin had been so kind as to demonstrate his kenkaze for Hilda that she couldn’t help but take advantage of the idea behind it.

With the wind pressure taken care of, Hilda leapt backwards, giving Shin a reasonable spot to land, but did nothing to stop her falling blades; after all, they were still an intended attack - Shin would have to move immediately after contact with the ground or risk being impaled.

Regardless, Sieglinde was held before Hilda in a two-handed grip as the large sword’s song started to grow silent; however, Hilda did not press an attack on Shin just yet. Like the samurai, Hilda didn’t want to kill anyone, and a long fight was definitely more fun than a short one, wasn't it?

The woman was physically impressive and the way she wielded the large, bone like sword spoke greatly of her strength. Using it as a shield against Kenkaze was equally impressive to Shin and the weapon would present an obstacle on its own.

Shins form spun once in the air so he could land lightly on the balls of feet and even as he touched down he dove wide to the right, his powerful leg muscles shooting him out like a coiled spring that turned into a soft roll bringing him back to his feet facing Hilda, outside the area in which the weapons landed and with the dragon motif katana still in his hand. But, like Hilda he made no further move to attack.

“What god is it that you serve?” Shin asked as he began to walk to his right, Hildas left, in what would be a circle around the women if she remained in place. Shin had some knowledge of the gods but nearly as much as he would have liked, the beings were powerful and for that Shin resented them and yet he couldn’t help imagine what it would be like to be one.

Hilda’s intended attack pierced the ground and kicked up dust, but, of course, missing Shin, who had rolled just outside the attack’s radius. If Shin still hadn’t known of the attack and was merely closing the distance between him and his opponent, he’d no doubt know of it now.

“Feel like talking now, do you?” Hilda brought her sword down from an attacking stance, pointing the blade towards the ground; it could still be brought up defensively, however.

“One that speaks of justice, of vengeance and honor. If it has a name, I don’t know it - I merely serve,” she laughed, “like all knights do.”

In the end, it was the truth, even if Hilda had wanted to conceal the identity of her master, she was incapable of telling a flat-out lie, it was against her creed, but more so than that, it was against her nature. Shin could choose to believe or not to believe, or he could even ask what her duties were. Whatever he chose was fine with Hilda.

With Shin back in melee range, Hilda relaxed her grip on Sieglinde, willing the sword away and replacing it with a blade that Shin would no doubt be more familiar with: It was Cizokian in origin, about the same length as a kodachi, making it smaller in comparison to his own weapons, but it was different, too, in that where the sword met hilt, it flared out, and had three rectangular indentions on its surface. In addition, the gauntlet encasing Hilda’s left arm and hand also changed and became a shield that wrapped around her forearm, being a few inches wider than the arm itself, and each digit of her hand was tipped with sharp, claw-like nails. It, too, looked to be of Cizokian origin.

Like the weapon it replaced, this new sword and shield felt odd. Alive.

Shin understood what it meant to serve someone. He understood how highly devoted individuals could get and knew men and women would go to great lengths to please whomever they served. But even with the upbringing of a Samurai he could not fathom serving something when you did not even know it’s name.

But than again Shin knew that there were many that served the gods without knowing everything about them. They called it ‘faith’, Shin thought it more foolish than anything. If you needed to rely on some other worldly all powerful being to watch after you, some misplaced notion that you were being watched over than you deserved to be lead around by a noose, or even cut down by the sword.

Hilda was no different to Shin.

He sheathed his weapon over his shoulder while he continued his pace around the women, watching with interest as she yet again changed weapons. The technique was getting tiresome and he had to wonder if she would ever run out of weapons or if she would constantly switch until she found one that was most effective against Shin.

“Why? What is the purpose. Why not simply serve yourself?”

"Purpose . . . " She mouthed the words with the faintest glimpse of a sad smile. "I carry the burden of the fallen," she said and fought against the urge to gesture, to point out the countless swords sheathed within the ground. Of course, these were the very same swords she had manifested earlier; they were nothing special, just swords: tools of iron, steel, and wood.

This was not all there was to it, however; it was pretty clear that there was more to Ser Hilda Ansgard than simply carrying around the weight of fallen, unnamed heroes. For a moment, she was quiet, almost solemnly so, but she carried on:

"It is not just the unsung that my arsenal consists of," she said, shifting the blade of her weapon to the side, turning its edge sideways before returning it back to its original position. "I also carry," she explained, "those with names, power and technique."

It was a hard concept to fully explain, really; it didn't seem like it, it could be told with the utmost simplicity, but the true implications of it? No, that was very, very hard to get across - to relay to another person.

Ahem, but never mind that. What was that last thing? Ah, right - Serve myself,” Hilda blinked and then shook her head; it was a thought that had never actually occurred to her. “Because,” she pursed her lips, traveling in the opposite direction of shin, “what would be the point in it? Money? Doesn’t concern me. Happiness? I am not sad. Honor? My integrity is still quite intact.”

Shin may have initially gotten the wrong impression of Hilda and her faith. She was no delusional cleric in some musty monastery making sacrifices to a silent, negligent guardian. No, she was very far removed from that sort of life; in reality, she had a rather more direct relationship with her master and served as an agent. Likewise, there was no watching over her, there was no divine interference and no protection; she was blessed, yes, but her skill was her own, whether she lived or died was also entirely reliant upon herself.

“Anything else?” She asked, “or shall we start back up?”

She arched a brow, continued walking circles opposite of Shin, but added: “First, though, let me introduce you: Hoshi no Ken, but that’s just a bit of a mouthful, isn’t it? I call her Hoshi. Fought in the,” she spread her shielded arm wide and then brought it back down, “revolution.”

A bristling crackle started to softly emit from around Ser Hilda Ansgard.

Shin listened to the words of Ser Hilda Ansgard carefully, weighing them against his own truths and in the end her speech fell on def ears. Shin couldn’t get past the point of serving something other than yourself, he understood it of course as the concept wasn’t foreign and he had never agreed with it.

Shins lip curled into a snarl of defiance, she stood for the exact opposite of what he did and perhaps if Shin had chosen a path he would be in her shoes. The thought was brief and quickly replaced by new ones as he decided his next move.

“We shall continue.” Shin agreed.

As the crackling started around her Shin attacked, the Shiden Blade springing forth from it’s sheath with a supernatural speed that likely surpassed anything Hilda had ever seen. It was his hallmark, his calling card, the one thing he was known for along side his unmatched skill, his speed. Shin wasn’t simply fast, to call him fast was an understatement and at such close proximity to Hilda his movements could very well be mistaken for teleportation.

As Shins blade had ripped forth from the sheath he drug the tip through the ground, the force and speed of the slash uplifting rock and debris and causing the very earth itself to explode in her direction.

The truth of the matter however is that Shin would beat his own attack to her. Pure foot speed would carry him to his left, her right, the Shiden blade striking in a diagonal slash from her left shoulder down to her right hip. It was, like many of his attacks, a blow not meant to kill but cause severe bleeding and cause pain.

The explosion of earth was powerful indeed! And Shin’s speed! Rarely had Hilda witnessed such speed, but that did not mean she was unaccustomed to it and nor did it mean she was helpless against it.

She grinned.

Her shielded right arm, the crackling more intense now than before, moved to deflect Shin’s slash, but she, herself, did not budge and, instead, held her ground. When Shin's blade impacted with her shield, Hilda would bring her arm around it in an attempt to grab a hold of his sword, clutching it firmly in her well protected hand.

But she had plans for the cloud of earth. Shin had, unknowingly, given her something great, and she had every intention of taking advantage of it; she would, in the same moment that she moved to defend against Shin’s weapon, without even batting an eye to the ever approaching attack that Shin had opened with, point the blade of her sword toward it, and, the second it came within range, applied an intense electrical current to it.

Accompanying the soil and rock would be loose dust, no doubt, and Hilda’s idea was a very simple one, one she had witnessed Hoshi perform before: Create cover out of a cloud of dust. The dust’s surface volume would expand at Hilda's command which would cause the amount of ground it would ultimately cover to increase. The force of Shin’s attack, however, had not been eliminated, she had done nothing to halt or impede the kinetic force, but that was fine for now.

Time, moving ever forwards, brought both Shin's initial attack and the cover of dust closer and closer, leaving Hilda little choice but to, if she had managed to grab a hold of Shin’s weapon, release the Shiden blade and relocate herself a dozen yards back via literal teleportation, allowing her newly created cover to not only obscure herself, but her opponent, as well. As for the force of Shin's attack, she did not know if he was in range of the violent force or not, but she hoped he wasn't, because she wanted to fight him seriously now, before either of them were too heavily injured.

Under normal circumstances, Hilda Ansgard would have probably changed weapons again, having now disrupted yet another attack, but she didn’t feel like it this time, if she was to change once more, it would be to use her own, personal blade. But she was not entirely sure Shin was ready for that yet. Luckily, she was pretty sure he couldn’t’ tell she was ‘holding back’. Mostly because she wasn’t, she was just not using her true weapon; she didn’t tell him this, though, because she had heard Cizokian warriors would have found this to be an insult to their honor. Or something.

Another high intensity current.

Like night giving way to day, the dust cloud was forcibly dragged to the ground by Hilda’s sword, which, with great finesse, had been slashed downwards as it severed its influence from the particles of dust.

And then bloodlust from behind.

Hilda was no longer a few yards away, but behind Shin and, unlike her opponent, she was no longer avoiding delivering fatal injuries; indeed, she was deliberately going for the kill now, her eyes dancing with joy, her lips spread wide in a smile, and her sword, her sword was coming down in a vertical slash on a path right down his back. However, it was a deceptive slash; Hilda appeared slightly out of range of Shin, her attack narrowly missing, but she twisted her body just as her sword neared Shin, dislodged her shoulder and increased the range in an instant, perhaps causing the samurai to misjudge the knight's attack.

It was like the talkative woman before had been replaced with someone entirely different.

Shins attack had been blocked and he wasn’t surprised, the women was good. However, he was able to retract his weapon before Hilda could wrap her armored hand around it, bringing it back down to his side in preparation for another attack.

His second attack would never come, he was instead forced to retreat for fear of being electrocuted. Quick footsteps brought Shin well outside of his initial attack that tore up the earth as well as Hildas. He wasn’t blind however, far from it, Shin could easily tell where Hilda was by nothing more than sensing her through Chi. She had teleported again.

“Hmph.” That would be a problem Shin noted, teleportation was often hard to predict and it helped to nullify his own natural speed, not to mention he would get tired much more quickly if he was forced to chase her around the battlefield.

Luckily for Shin he didn’t have too run anywhere, she had come to him. The moment Hilda appeared Shin knew and rather then turn to face her right away he dove backwards and to the side, rolling to the side of her weapon and twisting as dove. The technique was both agile and advanced, though for Shin it was easily accomplished, his form was one built for finesse and agility.

As Shin rose from his spin, on Hildas right and just inside of sword range, he spun and attacked, using centrifugal force combined with his own blinding speed to slash out, the sword now in his left hand. He rose and slashed at once, the attack coming from behind Hilda and rising up to strike at the back of her knees, again the blow wasn’t a killing one, not initially at least.

When Shin had dodged, Hilda instinctively jumped back three or four feet, which would put her behind Shin, who was in the midst of spinning and slashing out for the first time; she had narrowly dodged his attack, from the looks of it. Fortunately, dodging his first attack in this way meant she had dodged his second attack, as well, which was based on being behind her rather than her being behind him. Shin Shiden may have been able to sense chi, but Hilda's instincts hadn't let her down yet.

Shin’s dodge had been pretty impressive, Hilda acknowledged, silently. She would have probably complimented him on it, too, if this had happened five minutes earlier, but disregarding that, Shin was definitely a skilled warrior and he probably had no need for verbal acknowledgment of it. And here she was, having practiced her attack for days on end, trying to get it perfect, and missing entirely! Damn samurai. It looked like she still needed practice with oriental weapons. Weapon theory only helped so much, after all.

In the midst of thought, Hilda was still focused on battle, however; she was not one to not pursue an attack when things had gotten this serious.

Indeed! Hilda, in the instant that she was behind Shin and having safely avoided his attack, triple-stepped in and extended her left arm in a thrust, its fingers straight and tipped with sharp, serrated claws.

Although Hilda had needed to step in, given her distance from Shin, it was not just to increase her range of attack, but also to begin the transfer of energy and increase the severity of her thrust. It started with her feet, moved up into her legs, was amplified by the rotation of her hips, guided by her chest, channeled into her arms, and was to be delivered with her hand.

In martial arts, this would have been one of those strikes that could have broken stone slabs, let alone bone and tissue, but there was more to it than that, too; she was not throwing a simple punch or palm-strike, but a dagger’s thrust. Her shielded hand and arm was covered in a protective gauntlet, the gauntlet, itself, connecting the shield to her arm. She had no worries of sustaining any major damage from her attack; especially on an unarmored man of Shin’s physique. Even a glancing blow was set on causing at least some damage.

Shin completed his attack, his sword slicing through where Hilda had been less than a second before. He rose to his full five and a half foot form, sliding the Shiden Blade back in its sheath as he did so and turning to keep his eyes on the women. His attack would have cut the legs out of any lesser opponent he smiled briefly before it was replaced by his look of boredom.

The woman before him was an enigma, she fought using a strange technique and with a skill in swordsmanship he had seen less then a handful of warriors, let alone women, fight with. He remembered briefly the only other woman that came to mind and the thought of her sent chills down his back. Hilda, while skilled, certainly didn’t threaten him in the same way she did.

When Hilda triple stepped into attack Shin was ready, already he was weighing the pros and cons of his next strategy. He decided that there was no getting lucky with a kill shot on his opponent, not unless she seriously slipped up and he doubted that.

It was then that Shin Shiden learned another thing about his opponent, she was skilled even without her weapons. Though that wasn’t entirely true he told himself seeing that she attacked with her gauntleted hand, if it were unarmored Shin simply would of sheared it off with his Katana, yet, that was not the case this time.

Shin focused his mind and steeled his nerves though he never took his azure orbs off of Hilda. As her hand came into strike his right hand came out not to block, but redirect while his left unsheathed the Dragon motif Katana on his shoulder.

As Shins right hand came out to block a golden shield flickered to life just before the two made contact, leaving Shins hand completely intact as well as absorbing all of the impact and letting her shielded arm be harmlessly deflected to the side. Though the shield would only last for a brief moment, it was all that was needed with the two moving at such extreme speeds.

The same time Shins right hand came out to block his left unsheathed his other katana and slashed out vertically to slice Hilda, again, like all the others this attack was not meant to kill, instead Shins attack was aimed at Hildas sword wielding hand in an attempt to sever it.

When Shin's chi shield deflected Hilda's thrust and knocked her arm back and to the side, she did not panic and correct her stance, but, instead, allowed her body to go unbalanced and wobbly. This was one of those cases where experience took precedence over text-book teachings.

She fell.

Hilda Ansgard purposely hit the ground after allowing her legs to collapse and rolled her body clear away from Shins' vertical slash. A moment later and she was standing again, but had teleported a dozen feet in front of Shin and her weapon was sheathed.

"Ahahaha," she laughed and scratched the back of her head. "Scary, aren't you?"

Her tone was playful, but there was a considerable air of seriousness in the stance she was adopting. A few things had also changed with her appearance, as well: She no longer had her shield, for one; it had, apparently, been deconstructed sometime between her roll and teleportation. In addition, the clawed gauntlet was also gone and in its place was scarred, burned flesh. Aside from all of that, Hilda’s sword was not in her right hand, either, but, instead, in a sheath tethered to her waist, on the left.

“If this one fails . . . ,” she shrugged and spread her feet, bringing her body lower towards the ground in a familiar stance; she gripped the hilt of her weapon with her right hand, smiling. “ . . . Ah, forget it.”

Hilda bled intent to kill from every pore of her being.

In a split second, Ser Hilda Ansgard entered the pocket dimension that was her means for teleportation, forced her body to move, raised her right arm, hand still firmly grasping the hilt of her weapon, exited within sword range of Shin Shiden, withdrew her weapon from its sheath, and, at the same time, slashed at an impressive speed.

What did Samurai call this? Iaijutsu, was it? Well today was the first time she had seen it in person.

Because of the length of Hilda’s weapon being much shorter than Shin’s own katana, she had to exit closer to his person than if she was using any other sword, it was disadvantageous in most normal sword fights, but, given her sword’s length being comparable to a kodachi rather than a normal katana, it was actually better this way. This, of course, also meant she had less power than if she was using any other sword, but that was made up for in other ways. Unlike Shin’s attack from earlier, there may have been a bit of wind pressure from the sheer strength and speed Hilda had managed to draw her sword, but, given her limitations and inexperience with the technique, it was nothing to boast about.

Channeling electricity into her sword, Hilda prepared for Shin to dodge or block her attack; it would be at that moment that she would discharge as much electricity into the ground that she could, in hopes of stunning him for a second. Like Shin's chi shield, it would not last long at all.

As Hilda fell to avoid his attack Shin moved to strike but stopped half-way through as she teleported to safety some dozen feet away. He hated that teleporting technique, on one hand it provided a challenge and forced him to adapt but on the other hand it made many of his techniques useless.

Shin sheathed his own blade and loosely crossed both arms over his chest, he noted the changes Hilda underwent in the mere fraction of a second it took her to teleport. By his own estimation she gave up some defense to gain even more adaptability and speed, he wouldn’t tell her but he silently approved the change, armor almost always got in the way.

“A nightmare some would say.” Shin replied back in a cold gender neutral tone his eyes once again locking onto Hilda with a murderous stare.

When Hilda took up an Iaijutsu stance Shin raised his eyebrows in interest, there was no way she could be serious. Shin hadn’t lost an Iaijutsu duel since he used to spar his father, no, she wasn’t foolish enough to challenge Shin with his strongest technique when it was obvious to Shin that Hilda was not practiced in the art of Iaijutsu.

But then again, with teleportation did she need to be, he mused? And then she was gone.

Shin reacted instantly, shifting his weight onto his left foot and leaning far to the side to let her blade whisk harmlessly by. However, Shin failed to notice the true intent of her attack before it was too late.

The shock dispersed into the ground and Shin found his body was momentarily paralyzed, he silently cursed himself for being over confident, the women had more tricks than he gave her credit for and now he paid for it.

Offtopic: Ugh. I think I've spent far too much time RPing with Nate instead of using the coliseum, like the old Utopia days. I cannot write a small post for the life of me. Well, I'm more into description and choreography than anything though. So whatever.

Hilda stared forwards and then straightened herself, holding her sword off to the side, facing away from her body; she undid the sheath from her side with her free hand and tossed it to the ground.

“Good,” she said. “Stay there a second, will you?”

On queue, there was a loud, splintering crack from beside Hilda.

And then another, softer sound.

“You took a while to use that other sword, didn’t you?” Hilda was, of course, speaking of the sword she had tried to grab earlier, the Shiden blade. “Well I doubt it’s for the same reason as me.”

Something shattered and hissed, crackled and whistled.

In a mere few seconds after bringing her sword down, it had become a twisted, awkward version of itself and it showed no obvious signs of stopping, either; in fact, it seemed to be changing faster and faster now. It grew broader, the color of the blade and hilt bled into one another, decorative etchings ceased to exist, but more than that, it seemed to be a mix of several different types of weapons melding together.

More sounds, more breaking and scraping and then a white-hot, unnatural sound started to hum from the blade at Hilda’s side.

There was no oriental sword in her hand now, but, instead, a black monstrosity of a blade had taken its place. Underneath a thin cloak of darkness, the blade was cracked and a light, though dimmed by the shadow clinging to the sword, shone intensely through each scar in the blade. If Shin had paid attention to the weapon, he’d know full well what had happened: Hilda - Ser Hilda Ansgard - had combined several blades on the same spot, compounding them over and over, breaking and shattering living weapons, who seemed to resist with every ounce of their power, until the result that was in her hand came to be.

“My one thousandth and one sword,” she spoke just loud enough for Shin to hear her. “My soul: Weltuntergang.

Slowly, the blade was hefted from Hilda’s side and held, two handed, before her, at the ready.

It was unlike the inanimate and living weapons Hilda had used before, but similar, too. It radiated power, but did not give off any chi or sense of mana. In every respect, this was a dead weapon - a black, disfigured scar in reality.

The sword, Weltuntergang was a broad, massive weapon without any attempt at pleasing one’s sense of aesthetics. Starting at the hilt, the sword’s body was almost triangular, ballooning out from near the hilt just slightly, leaving a small area above the hand guard to catch an opponent’s weapon, but, towards the fore of the weapon, it shifted inwards on one side, becoming a jagged slope until it reached the start of the blade; it was perfectly normal and straight on the other side, however.

The distance between Shin Shiden and Hilda Ansgard was cleared in an instant. In the time it took to form her sword, only half a minute, give or take, had passed, and Shin was no longer paralyzed, but Hilda Ansgard was bringing her sword into a downwards, diagonal slash, two-handed and with all her weight and strength behind it.

There was nothing fancy about the attack, there were no tricks, no hidden abilities, electrical discharge, wind manipulation, or anything of the like; it was a simple, very straightforward attack. Incredibly fast, however; Hilda only neared Shin's speed when it came to small movements and reflex, but this, although slower than something Shin could have produced, was nothing to scoff at, either. Regardless, using two hands now and this particular weapon meant Hilda Ansgard was fighting on a very different level now than before.

Shins initial surprise faded quickly, he had been caught unaware by Hilda’s attack and now paid the price. But she did not pursue like he figured she would, instead the women did something Shin did not foresee, she was bringing another blade into existence. Her words suddenly became clear to Shin.

The second that Shin was paralyzed came and went, Hilda taking the time to form this weapon of hers. Intrigued by the idea of fighting a more powerful weapon Shin did not interrupt, instead he backed away slowly, keeping both arms across his chest and giving her a good fifteen feet to work with.

He paid close attention to the weapon as it was coming to life, sort to speak, and when the finish product came to be Shin was nothing short of impressed. The weapon, while being rather ugly in Shins opinion, was not something he had seen before and he was eager to test the Shiden Blade against it.

Shin drew his blade in the span it took Hilda to teleport and bring her weapon to bear. While he wasn’t as strong as Hilda he certainly wasn’t weak, he was actually stronger than the average male but against the individuals he normally fought it hardly mattered. Yet, despite the difference in strength Shin would make up for it with pure speed.

Shins left hand secured the scabbard and his right firmly held the Shiden blade, Shin used his skill in iaijutsu to make up for his lack of strength as well. His weapon came up and rather then attempt to block the weapon straight up he angled the blade and stepped to the side, letting her own strength carry the weapon harmlessly wide of him in the direction of her swing. To finish off the technique Shins left hand, holding his steel scabbard with a reverse grip, swung in to strike the women in the neck with bone crushing speed and power.

Shin did sacrifice some power since he had to remain on the move while executing his attack, he didn’t want to be caught by a follow up swing with her large and deadly blade and so unless stopped Shin would continue to step to his left, Hildas right in an attempt to get around her. All the while executing his moves with the speed and power he was known for, of the Shiden Style.

Although Hilda did not speak it, she was impressed by Shin’s split-second decision to guide Weltuntergang away rather than block it; the size and power of the sword meant that blocking it was a potential, sword-breaking risk. She had caught more than her fair share of warriors by surprise after shattering their swords like glass scattered amongst the battlefield.

There was, however, a significant difference in Hilda now than prior to calling forth Weltuntergang: For one, the opening her attack had created was immediately closed the second Shin deflected her weapon; instead, she shifted her weight, pushed off in continuation with her attacking stance, spatially relocated herself a few feet above where she was, altered her center of gravity, and, aided by the sheer force of momentum produced by her weapon and conserved by her ability to teleport, she allowed her diagonal slash to turn into a full, deadly rotation. This new attack, born from her first, was even more powerful, and, in a threat to Shin’s life, could very well have cleaved him in two or removed a limb, if it was extended in pursuit of an attack. The best defense was a good offense, they used to tell her!

The second difference in Hilda was that, unlike before, there was no attempt at dodging Shin‘s attacks using teleportation. Evasion such as that was reserved very specifically for her other weapons - Weltuntergang was a sword very specifically meant to be used all-out, attacking as much as possible. Hilda Ansgard's true fighting prowess came when combining teleportation with Weltuntergang's traits.

Regardless, once the spinning attack was complete, Hilda would land with her sword ending up sheathed within the ground, her grip still firmly established, but her body would be held poised and perched onto the broadside of the sword; she had both feet firmly planted atop its surface, her body was leaning forwards, held by the blade and her grip on its hilt, and, oddly enough, she appeared to be in an attacking stance . . . In addition, Weltuntergang's shadowy cloak was beginning to spread up and down Hilda's arms and, to the observant, like the sword, there were cracks with light shining through also appearing on the woman's armor and flesh. - Well it was probably nothing.
