Question

City-states individually ruled by single, powerful pseudokinetics with weaker underlings. Each city is as different from the next as those which command them, but they all fly the same banner highest and recognize the missing Lemon as their common ruler.

Question

Postby Alex Marradenche on Mon Mar 23, 2009 6:36 pm

What a disgusting and horrific state we seem to have gotten ourselves into here, Alex.

Dazed and lost, Alexander VonMarradenche would sit, in all his former glory, in some run down ally way. His once gleaming, shiny white trench coat would show splattered with mud and dirt. Hair that hung in curtains from either side of his head as he sat bowed forward would be matted and dirty, the silvery shine having long lost its luster and the strands sticking out at odd angles. Finger nails and skin would be caked in filth and that once handsome face free of all worry and stress would now be shrunken back onto his skull with a waxy gloss over it. Eyes of violet only sitting half open would stare into nothing, hidden from the world by the hood of his coat, his arm resting on his propped up leg, his left arm and leg sitting or hanging limply to the side.

A true disgrace to his vampiric lineage, Alexander found himself in some strange town he had never heard of, in some country he knew not the name with people speaking in tongues he had never heard of before. His mind blank, full of distorted images of some past that he could not remember, all that Alex could cling to was the one face and name he could connect.

Grim, where are you?

"Say it again." She held up the large bottle of glowing green liquid, motioning to it.

The vender spoke something with a rolling tongue and tight lips. Grim tried to repeat it. They shook their head, and repeated with emphasis.

Grim sighed. This place was impossible. And she couldn't find anyone with a shred of a language that she knew. She was totally drained both mentally and phisically, and she wasn't putting much effort into getting to know anything or anyone. She had been holed up in her head most of the time she had been here, and she really needed to get away.

Grim set the bottle down and shook her head. Walking away from the protests, she shrugged out of her coat, blandly glaring at the filmy sun in the sky. As she shouldered her way throught the crowd, she made it to the edge of the city with most of her pockets as empty as they were three days ago. She eyed the edge of one house, and, throwing her coat over her shoulder, she scrambled up its corner, slipping a little when her foot caught the corner shingle. She walked the top edge like a tightrope, jumping over an ally to try and get to the next house.

But Grim once again didn't put much effort in, and fell.
Fuck it. I'm going to hell, anyway.

Standing up, Alex shook his coat some, releasing some debris from the ground that clung so to him. Stretching backward, his spine would release a sound like that of one walking on packing peanuts, then turning, Alex would yawn, scratching his head, oblivious to the woman crashing to the ground behind him. Coming out of his yawn, he would turn and start walking down the street, unaware of anyone or thing around him, crashing into anyone who didn't have enough sense to get out of his way as he walked. Passing by an outdoor cafe, Alex would pass his hand over someones sandwich, the hand moving at such a speed no one would see the movement, and the precise timing of the steal would allow him to walk away with it in his mouth, the previous owner unaware until it was quite too late.

Munching on a particularly tasty bit of bacon from the sub, Alex would stop to stare in a glass window full of jewelry, though he knew he could never afford anything the store had, "What does a guy gotta do around here ta get a job..." Scratching his chin, Alex would stare into his reflection in the glass, picking at some hair on his chin.

Grim felt everything she fell on, felt the crunching of empty panelled boxes and the jar her body took when she landed ass-first. She ground her teeth together.

How low have you sank to not care about anything anymore?

She didn't feel like answering herself. She opened her eyes and watched him walk away. She sat there for a moment, her mind trying to comprehend what her eyes had just seen. He was gone before she was on her feet.

Grim was sprinting to the end of the alley, skidding to a stop before she ran someone over. She jumped up, her coat completely forgotten, her chin high as she searched for that gleam of white.

Theretherethere. Right there. Over there!

There's like, a million people who wear white here.
Grim cursed, and a mother gave her a cold look. Grim glared back as she led her child away from her. Grim jumped up again, her heart racing. She heard her neck give off a nasty crrra-a-ack as she swung to the left and started beating her way through the crowd.

She ended up behind him, seeing their reflections with wide, happily suprised eyes. Grim's smile was ridiculous, but she didn't care. He was here, and that's all that mattered.
Fuck it. I'm going to hell, anyway.

Alex turned around so fast, he was surprised there were not cries around him for nearly turning invisible for that second. Staring at Grim for a split second, he then stumbled back, hitting the glass and loosing his footing. All grace lost, he fell flat on his back, unable to catch himself for not really knowing how to. Scrambling back up, Alex raised his hands to Grims face, just barely touching her cheeks. Jumping forward, he would then pull Grim into a bone crushing hug, afterwords putting her at arms length to look her over, "Wha....Where...Wha...Wha...." At a loss for anything else to say, Alex then pulled Grim into another hug. In the middle of the hug, Alex would put his lips to Grims ear, "Where the hell are we?"

Grim didn't breath the whole time. She clung to Alex like he would disappear if she ever let go. She shivered at his touch, and she was almost tearing up when they held each other out to get a good look at each other. She could barely function knowing that this was really him, here, in reality.

Grim pressed her face into where his neck met his body, inhaling his familiar smell. It took her a moment before she could figure out how to talk. When she did, she whispered into the back of his jaw, "I don't know, but it just got a lot better."
Fuck it. I'm going to hell, anyway.
