"Nani desu ka?" Etsu asked from inside. She sounded fairly polite, as if she were addressing one of Eld's parents and not Eld himself.
That was probably the case, actually. Etsu would never sound that polite to Eld. Maybe she still expected him to not knock before opening the door.
Of course, that was the whole reason she was clothed right now. Etsu had to get out of her school clothes eventually, and that time arrived shortly after she woke up that afternoon. Now, rather than wearing her school uniform, she was wearing what she should have been wearing last night: pajamas. It wasn't much at all, actually, just a plain white shirt that went all the way down to her knees. As such, there was no need for pants. She was sitting in Eld's bed, propped up with her head against his baseboard and her knees almost up to her chest (which unknowingly left the bulk of her shirt bunched up at the base of her thighs, exposing the entirety of her legs). Etsu had a book of Eld's set against her legs, and she seemed more interested in reading at the moment than she did anything else.
If Eld paid close enough attention, he'd see that this was one of the more embarrassingly romantic books from his shelves. It kind of bordered on trashy, even.
Her hair was down over the left side of her face again. She was not going to intentionally show the damage that was done there. She didn't want anyone to see.
