Makoto stood at the docks of Takahashi with her arms folded across her chest. She had been training with Soren for quite a while, almost a year now. Soren had come along well in her eyes and she treated him now with more respect and more like "one of her own". She had become more accustomed to his presence.

News that foreign undead were attacking the docks of both Michiba and Takahashi at night was spreading like wildfire. After a meeting with the Emperor, who seemed consumed with pleasing the Phoenix Emperor of the Valley of the Lotus for favors, Makoto had decided to call Takahashi home for a while. She ate a banana while leaning against her staff.

"You know, I've been all over this empire and there is so much I've yet to see and experience." She spoke to no one in particular.

The full moon cast an eerie light upon the water as the tide moved in. "Soren, I figured that this would be your type of task. The Emperor is testing you, I think. He is a mysterious man."

Right now, Soren and Makoto played the waiting game.

If the undead were truly attacking, then Soren would be able to control his hunger. He wondered how they would handle a full blooded Vuri defending his new homeland. Since his stay, he felt more at home and didn't even think about his family anymore. Makoto had become like a companion, but he still only wanted to impress her. It had been a rude awakening for Soren, to learn that women also had authority.

He bowed when she spoke and acknowledged her words. The threat would have to be stopped, but how? Was he supposed to seek the emperor, or wait for his call?

He had since learned to live without his power and had adapted his strength into weapon training. Soren had often felt helpless, only knowing the magick as his true defense. Since his training, he had grown into a more confident man, realizing his potential. He wouldn't always have to rely on magic for defense and this came with a great relief.

"Do they realize that they are walking feasts for me? Should I train until the emperor calls for us?" Soren watched her eat the banana and got a perverted image instead.

"Do you think you can take on an army? I actually do not know how many of them there are, but supposedly, there are many of them. The dead always outnumber the living. Vastly." She glanced at her banana and peeled it back. "I'm not sure when things are going to start happening. We're just watching."

Takahashi was beginning to show signs from being attacked repeatedly by undead. There were screens shattered and torn, houses were empty and boarded up, taverns were also empty with cooks standing outside scratching their heads. The townsfolk themselves appeared tired. However, the port was heavily fortified as it often was.

"You'll know what to do when the time comes. Right now, we just play the waiting game."

Taka:

A very effeminate man exited from one of the abandoned taverns. He glanced around him, appearing suspicious. Taka was not just an effeminate man, he dressed all-out like a woman. He realized that in this land, it wouldn't be hard at all for him to pass himself off as a woman. As he walked, he held this air of elegance and grace. He ran a thin, slender hand through his long black hair. With his other hand, he fanned himself lazily with a cheap paper fan he bought from a vendor. Taka could definitely pass for one of the townspeople in Takahashi.

He walked rather slowly until he heard shuffling behind him. He turned, smirking slightly. This was the cue. He ran through the streets, sandals clacking against the ground. Using a small glamor spell, he was able to change the timbre of his voice, sounding like a woman. He screamed as he ran through the streets.

Behind him was quite literally, an army of undead soldiers chasing him, yet stopping to break into homes and other buildings.
