∙Powers and Abilities∙
Kato satsugai-ryu: A broad school of swordsmanship specialized in and practiced by the Kato clan of Cizok. Although a school of inheritance, taught only within the bloodline of the family, there has been little stagnation and several sub-styles have appeared, allowing for flexibility and personalization.
¬Asahi no Kata: This form of Kato satsugai-ryu (falsely) appears to be one of the least combat suitable sub-styles within the main school. While it is true that it lacks the same raw offensive and defensive techniques seen in the more straightforward sub-styles, it, instead, focuses on breathing techniques, meditative practices, and subtle movements. Because of its lack of emphasis on one’s stance, power or defense, it often times appears to be boring and slow, but, in reality, is capable of drawing an opponent into the practitioner’s rhythm, thereby trapping and disabling the opponent well before they realize their mistake.
¬Kusarigamajutsu: Weapon techniques involving a chain scythe. While not traditionally linked with the Kato satsugai-ryu, after coming to own a particularly interesting chain scythe, Osamu applied his knowledge of swordsmanship and a bit of weapon theory; it had satisfactory results.
Seele Übertritt: Originally created by Death, Seele Übertritt is an ability that aids a Reaper - an agent of the Dirige - in relocating the souls of the deceased to their final resting place. Although it is first and foremost a means to transport matter between the realms, Seele Übertritt can be applied in other areas, as well, in a variety of ways, from augmenting weapons to the manifestation of effects.
¬Ōkō no tamashī: Often conflicting with Seele Übertritt, sabotaging any attempts at simple, basic use of the ability, Osamu Kato has a very powerful, intimidating spiritual presence that affords him unprecedented output, but, admittedly, limits his ability to exert fine control over anything below a certain power threshold. A number of advantages and disadvantages are associated with his unique condition.
