Syrus stood in a crowded room, full of his most trusted allies, as well as a few of the most powerful mortals to have ever lived. Each of the 10 Sages were represented or present. Syrus and Sieg Warheight, Descendants of Sage Warheight. Darius, Serge, and Sarah Ravenshield, Descendants of Sage Ravenshield. Julius Darkspear, Descendant of Sage Darkspear. Sage Gottheit and Xavier Gottheit, his Descendant. Kai Baptiste, Descendant of Sage Baptiste, and Talis Rai, shadow of Alistair Baptiste, Descendant of Sage Baptiste. Sage Blackthorne. Sage Benglasse. Sage Pendragon. Sage and Charlotte Voltaire. Kraven Solaris, Descendant of Sage Solaris. On the day when Syrus was to be married, a collection of the most powerful mortals known to humanity all sat with their King, deep underneath the capitol city of Toryn, in Algeroth. The area beneath the castle-like city was known as Deep Toryn, which was a description of it's elevation, as well as an allusion to the Deep Magic which protected it from unwanted intruders, disallowing them entrance.
Sitting, not at the head of the table, or above them, but amongster them at a table with several even sides, Syrus deeply thanked his guests for their various gifts and appearances. Long-lost artifacts and objects of great power had been gathered in celebration, signifying the close of many incredibly long and deadly expeditions. Among these, the Fang of Adriel had been recovered and repaired by Serge, as well as the Tomes of Power that accompanied each Sage during their prime, though pages from each were still missing. These objects were collected in a frantic attempt to prepare the world for the coming of the apocolypse. Syrus had begun to suffer from more and more frequent dreams of The End. He feared that it would come on his wedding day, and even moving up the date of it did not cease his ever-present hallucinations. The beings that had been described to him were always in the corner of his eye. His room was nearly burned to a crisp as he woke up from his nightmares and flung fire frantically at the shadows in the corners of his chambers, a desperate attempts to purge the shadows from his sight and mind. And now that they had them, and the resurfacing of several actual living Sages, Syrus' power had increased exponentially. He felt stronger than ever, and yet defenseless, as he had never felt before. Despite all attempts to console him, Syrus couldn't help but feel the depression and foreboding sense of doom along with the mingled nervous tingle and joy that he felt from marrying the love of his life.
And yet, considering all this, Syrus put on a facade outside this room of his most trusted allies, save Amethyst, who was not to be worried with what was to be The End of the World.
" No matter what happens today...if they do come...be ready to evacuate the twins, Amethyst, and the civilians here. As for the rest of us, and the soldiers, we have the airships ready to mount an offensive once they appear in the manner that they have been reported as having presented themselves in other countries. Be ready to repeat the Sagastic Sacrifice, and know that their numbers are, for all intents and purposes, limitless. We may have to destroy the Black Gate. And for that...Nobunaga, forsaking Naos. "
