To Eldridge Tsukimono, at present day, she borders on treating him lovingly, wanting nothing more than to be close to him both emotionally and physically. She is not terribly expressive around him or anyone else, however. But, as seen in her dreams, she is extremely expressive when in the presence of Attis, though the depth and history of their relationship has yet to be explored. To others beyond Tsukimono and Attis, Kageko can range from uncaring to downright hateful, and cares little for the safety and sanctity of others if such does not benefit Tsukimono's existence in any way. For the most part, she is driven by instincts. When in battle, for example, she rarely ever leaves an opponent alive or unharmed; Kageko usually maims them beyond repair, or-- most commonly --outright kills them. Little remorse for this is felt, under the logic of the "kill or be killed" instincts that were bred into her. . . . . Contacts Eldridge Tsukimono — "Master." Eld is the current owner of the scythe in which Kageko is trapped. Kageko is extremely fond of Tsukimono. Attis — Former "Master"? For over a dozen hours prior to Eld's repossession of the scythe, Attis was in possession of the scythe, instead. Kageko shows hints within her dreams of Attis that she may be even more fond of him than she is of Tsukimono. Etsu Hikane — A necessary evil. Hikane's closeness to Eldridge does not make Kageko happy--however, because Hikane makes Eldridge happy, she must exist. There is a subtle, albeit unspoken, understanding and respect between these two girls as necessary evils to one another, though it is often trumped by their inherent jealousies. Hikane is jealous of Kageko's usefulness whilst Kageko is jealous of Hikane's real physical proximity to Tsukimono. |
. . . . Talents
Sensory experiences — Kageko's primary abilities are those that effect the senses. She can both amplify her own senses and muddle another's. Her most powerful skill in this set allows her to muddle the skill senses of another person, limiting their trained talents and strengths.
Shade manipulation — Like all Shades, Kageko can manipulate the shadows. She can subordinate herself as a shadow, submerge into and emerge from shadows, and as a Shadeling unique talent, she can even create and control other Shades.
Fighting skill — This is a questionable category, as Shadelings, when hunting, rarely actually do much physical hand-to-hand combat. Nonetheless, attached to the back of Kageko's hands are two jagged "claws." They're an extension of two back knuckles, which usually slope backwards across the back of her hands. These claws can slope forward, however, and extend up to three feet in length. The longer they're extended, however, the more brittle they are, and if broken, Kageko will fall into a paralyzing state of agony. Nonetheless, these are her primary--and natural --weapons.
Unknown powers — In several cases, Kageko has exhibited various unknown and unaccounted for powers. Little is known about their origin, but there is usually a voice of some sort speaking in her head when they briefly manifest.

Type — Gaiasoul
Explanation — Although Kageko is not a god or goddess or any sort, she is still trapped in a weapon like many pre-Utopian gods/goddesses are. She can drag her wielder into her mental "world" by introducing the necessary sensory experiences into his or her mind, though it is often easier to do this when the wielder is sleeping. This is how she has been able to interact with her current wielder, Eldridge Tsukimono.
Container — A simple farming scythe.
Number of seals — Three; standard Gaiasoul method.

Weapon and ability styles — As per the traditional Gaiasoul containment method, there are three seals to contain the trapped soul within. Each of the three, when temporarily released by voice command, allows the wielder portions of the trapped abilities.
First seal — The farming scythe becomes a dual bladed scythe. Allows the wielder to narrow his or her own senses, and share pain between wielder and Kageko, to amplify one's personal pain threshold.
Second seal — The double bladed scythe gains a lengthy chain, on which a curved sickle of darkness is attached. Allows the wielder to weaken the senses of any one particular focal target.
Third seal — Swaps the current wielder out with Kageko herself.
1. Shades and Shadelings alike are extremely lightweight creatures. It is very uncommon for a humanoid Shadeling of healthy physique to weigh any more than 120lbs.
2. Shadelings often come to consciousness with a fully developed physical body, or develop one quickly, after which they continue to age as per their environment's (those they're around more than anyone/anything else) biological nature. Kageko, for example, came to consciousness and developed quickly into the body of a teenage girl. She has since continued to age and grow at a normal human pace.
