He hadn't the slightest clue where that came from, but that didn't matter too much. Daniel shared the same sentiments, that Manny was essentially one of his best friends in the world. He had other friends, before he met Manny and Everett. There were a few important people in his life back then. But for reasons he consciously chose never to speak of, Manny and Everett were essentially the closest friends he had at this point in time.
Manny, however, was the physically closest. Manny didn't mind it if Daniel touched him for some reason or the other. A hug or something. Put an arm around his shoulders, that sort of thing. Manny wasn't angry all the time. Hell, Manny was actually pretty decent emotional support, even when Daniel didn't let on that he needed such a thing.
"You're my friend, too, Manny," Daniel replied.
He wrapped his arm around Manny's waist rather than his shoulders and held him close, almost intimately so, but failed to notice this. Daniel had no idea where his hand was. He was a tad bit drunk and couldn't feel most of his extremities for the life of him. He probably wouldn't have cared much even if he could.
Somewhere on his hip or near the vicinity.
